Great finds there, though I should note that the topmost one has been debated heavily on various sluething sites, and the consensus seems to be that it's a fake (it was the supposed 'extra body' photo that a PI hired by Butch 'conveniently' found in the police crime scene negatives years later). It's part of the really, really weak arguement that Butch has for his innocence, or partial innocence, or whatever his story happens to be on a particular day.

I'm positive Butch killed them. But something has always bothered me greatly.... how the hell did they sleep through the first one or two gunshots? Unless, he drugged them somehow?  |

Like many well made older houses, the walls are fairly sound proof (there are a number of cases of people not hearing a murder right in the next room in these types of houses), so as long as he waited until everyone was solidly asleep and then proceeded quite quickly, it's entirely possible. (note that Allison did wake - just in time to look straight down the barrel of the gun as it was firing at her - her eye balls literally had gun residue on their surfaces )

Awesome. Thanks for posting, I can't believe I've never seen these. I was only thinking of this case last night when they showed the remake of Amityville Horror on TV. Not 100% convinced of the haunting but the murder case itself is interesting stuff.

Basically, dude named Butch killed his mom, dad, two brothers and two sisters with a rifle while they were sleeping, then a while later showed up at a bar asking for help and pretending he didn't know what had happened. well, I used to   but then I loaned out my bass to a freind and she (my bass, not the freind) got dismembered at a party. I haven't been able to play since.  |
