Courtroom officials in South Carolina tried to calm the women, who had to be carried out of the court on their chairs.

The mother of one of the convicted women was thrown out of the courtroom for continual screaming.

The lesbian lovers beat toddler Serenity Richardson to death in 2009 when the girl, who was Butts’ goddaughter, was staying at their Summerville home for 2 weeks.

“They beat her repeatedly both with a belt and with plastic coat hangers,” Elizabeth Gordon, assistant managing solicitor for Charleston County, said.
