His facebook page has been deleted now, his girlfriends is still there...I felt bad posting pictures of her...She hasn't killed people so I removed them

This news that people were screaming at the last minute or so will make it fucking tough for family and friends...The poor fuckers didn't have a quick sudden death...They knew death was seconds away

Pictures showed police inside a house in the German town of Montabaur, about 100 kilometers (62 miles) north-west of the city of Frankfurt. Prosecutors also said searches were being carried out further north in the city of Düsseldorf, where Tuesday's doomed flight from Barcelona was bound.

"Both the residence of the co-pilot in Düsseldorf and the residence in Montabaur have been searched," senior prosecutor Ralf Herrenbrück told AFP. Montabaur mayor Gabriele Wieland told Germany's DPA news agency that Lubitz lived with his parents in Montabaur while keeping a flat in Düsseldorf.

He must have had some dark secret as there were no signs whatever that could lead to this.

Germanwings co-pilot Andreas Lubitz 'suffered burnout or depression' a few years ago, a former classmate has claimed.

The mother of an ex-classmate of Lubitz told how the co-pilot - who deliberately flew the passenger jet into the Alps killing 150 people - had confided in her daughter a few years ago.

She said: "He apparently was suffering from burnout or depression."

The mother said that the 28-year-old seemed totally normal when her daughter saw him just before Christmas.

Speaking about the tragedy the woman added: "I can only image the whole thing was a knee-jerk reaction. It can't have been planned, although it was actually like a killing spree."

Her claim may explain why Lubitz halted his training and only started work six years later.

The reasons for the interruption were not revealed by Lufthansa CEO Carsten Spohr.

The french have been very quick to release info (they do seem to have a thing about 'openness' that I respect) and I would imagine some people are pissed with black box details being revealed so soon.

Its very strange. Suicides/homicides/terrorism like this tend to be dramatic, nose dive perhaps

but a slow decent over 10min? poor kids

They were pretty muched forced to after the NYT frontpaged the contents of the cockpit voice recorder.

Whatever the root cause of his suicide, there was absolutely no excuse for taking anyone else with him.
