The 911 phone call, which was made by the shooting suspect (Don Charles Spirit), is being released in accordance with Florida State Statues.

On 09-18-2014, at approximately 4:00pm, Don Spirit made a 911 call to the Gilchrist County Sheriff’s Office and indicated that he had killed his six grandchildren and his daughter, and stated that he would kill himself when law enforcement arrived on scene.

When deputies arrived in the area of the residence, verbal contact was made with the suspect. After a brief verbal exchange, the suspect sustained a self inflicted gunshot which resulted in his death. As of this time, no clear or definitive motive can be determined.

Preliminary autopsy results indicate that all deaths were the results of gun shots from a .45 caliber hand gun. A .45 caliber handgun was recovered in close proximity to the suspect. All of the children’s bodies were located in various locations inside the residence, while the bodies of the two adults were found outside the residence in separate locations on the property. The final autopsy report will not be complete for several weeks.

The investigation has revealed that Don Spirit was a convicted felon, and federal, state, and local law enforcement authorities are investigating how he may have obtained the firearm.

As stated before, this tragic and devastating event may never be fully explained. We would continue to ask everyone to keep the victims family, friends, classmates, and the community of Bell, Florida in their thoughts and prayers. "

Unbelievable that's crazy after that horrible past , They don't do more to keep that complete piece of sh!t in jail and away from other human beings . Years ago I unfortunately had a massively addicted piece of sh!t Cousin that beat his 4 year old Son to death with brass knuckles . After we went to everyone we could to get that kid taken away from him and his drug addict wife . We spent over a year in court constantly trying to save this kid my family even offering to care for the child . They went to there home that was discusting , But they said everything was fine . After the death of this beautiful child it came out that my cousins wife and her friends were hooking to get drugs and the Case worker that was supposed to be looking out for this child was getting sexual favors for his help . My puke Cousin got 70 years the life expectancy of the child . The case worker got 20 years . They even tried to make it look like an accident saying he kicked the bedroom door and it's struck the child killing it . But the medical examiners seen what really happened . They weren't fooled . I to this day would like to end this piece of human garbage .

Wow. What drives a person to want to wipe out his 6
Grandchildren and his own daughter? You can almost understand 2 grown adults having a dispute and going too far and shooting the other person in the heat of the moment, but how can anyone walk through their own home and kill their own children/grandchildren like its nothing?
