There's a pile of something there at the start. That was just fireworks exploding not a real bomb hence all the shredded paper.

Seriously, though, bombs through the mail are no laughing matter. Watched plenty of Forensic Files episodes about them, and with so many people ordering things from Amazon, it's inevitable that eventually someone is gonna get the bright idea to put a bomb in a box with that alluring sky blue tape on it...and who's gonna be able to resist picking it up and disturbing the lil mercury switch inside? Even if you don't have an order pending, you'll still wonder if the box is heavy enough for you to steal or resell whatever is inside.

In the West, we typically get giant warning labels all over boxes that are being shipped or moved that have contents that might be volatile and "To Handle With Care!" In China, they're lucky if they get a "This Side Up" in tiny purple Sharpie lettering on their boxes of boom boom.

Postman got more than he asked for when he dropped a heavy parcel on the ground.

Background: rural grandparents mailed 30kg of impact-initiated firecrackers to their grandson. Firecrackers and fireworks are regulated in Chinese cities for pollution control but still common in rural areas.

I guess the grandson must've complained not being able to buy them from shops any more (as you can see why).
