There was no hazardous material placard on the truck. That was a caution triangle to warn traffic of a slow vehicle. That vehicle was too small to need a placard for those chemicals. All rescue units parked WAY too close to this incident. Use the "rule of thumb": If you can hold up your thumb with an outstretched arm, place it over the incident and see any part of the scene around the edges of your thumb, you're too close.

I'm a firefighter/EMT with HAZMAT training. There is a very good reason why we call the cops "blue canaries". Down cop on scene means the scene isn't safe, don't enter until the scene is safe.
