Re: Chinese Man Trapped in Car Drowns in Lake
It's an educational/training video. Window on the right is down at the beginning, then the video jump cuts and the window is up. Camera mounted on a gimbal in the back in an odd location. Another video on YouTube with a similar guy and car doing the same thing but with others in the car with him. |

I always thought you were meant to wait for the car to fill with water and then that way the door will open as the pressure is a lot less. that or have one of those tools handy, or always keep a chisel in the centre console/

That was a hard watch. Poor guy panic, if he tried the door once submerge the outside pressure would have been equalised and he would have been able to swim out. Also using his METAL PHONE to break a window could have also worked. |

Re: Chinese Man Trapped in Car Drowns in Lake
I was wondering about the authenticity. The extreme evasive maneuver and the final camera angle as he went under didn't make sense. It also wondered why it wasn't possible to open the door further when it was partially opened. I would have thought that the water would just flow around the door and into the car faster. |

Re: Chinese Man Trapped in Car Drowns in Lake
He wasn't calling for help, he was talking to his kid. The child got scared and he responded "Don't be scared, Daddy will be home soon". Hard to make out his last words since both the kid and dad were wailing but near the end he was just telling his kid "I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry" |

Re: Chinese Man Trapped in Car Drowns in Lake
Its odd but easy to explain. Folks can assume they would be "prepared" in a situation like this all they want & brag all day in comment sections about what they would or wouldn't do. Once its real life, most people are overcome immediately & freeze like a deer in headlights, & are unable to help themselves.
