Re: CHINA: 6 Killed, 7 Hurt in Hunan Bridge Collision
From the footage, it is an Arcfox Kaola EV. "The Arcfox Kaola (Chinese: 考拉) is a purpose-built electric compact multi purpose vehicle (MPV) produced by the BAIC Group under the brand name Arcfox. According to Arcfox, the Arcfox Kaola is designed for mothers with babies. The Arcfox Kaola was first shown in January 2023. The Kaola is a 4-seater MPV, and it has a front motor producing 163 horsepower (122 kW; 165 PS) as standard and a top speed limited to 160 km/h. The battery is a 58.86 kWh LFP battery made by CATL and a CTLC range of 500 kilometres (310 mi). Just like the BYD D1 and Bestune NAT, the Arcfox Kaola features a sliding door on the right side to prevent passengers from opening the door and potentially hitting cyclists or pedestrians." |

Re: CHINA: 6 Killed, 7 Hurt in Hunan Bridge Collision
With the integration of AI into the Kaola's OS, coupled with the example of the aggressive horn-honking male driver, it looks like the rear-end collusion put the OS into a self-fostered fight-and-flight mode intending to clear the danger zone and protect the baby-on-board from additional rear-end collisions. At that point, the lives of oncoming motorcycle riders were clearly mission-secondary. Arcfox definitely needs to hone the maturity of the AI. I also suggest the Kaola be equipped with a driver gender screening device so it learns road rules from calmer female drivers, as designed. |
