I agree, instead of using their phones to film his gruesome death maybe they could actually use their phones to dial emergency services?! If someone else had taken care of that task they could of at least put their phones down to put him on his side so he wasn't drowning, slowly, in his own blood or maybe they could of comforted him? I don't post often.. but heres my take.

Looks like a sucking chest wound to me. Coughing/spewing blood up.. choking on it really. His trachea has completely deviated to one side as well... which is pretty much the end for any sucking chest wound victim.

This is the best description of what happened. Because of the way he's bleeding, its clear that he took a great blast wound up close causing cavitation of some major organs. Its safe to presume one of his lungs was hit, causing his airway to fill with blood.
Only a large caliber bullet at close range can produce the kind of blast wound to the internal organs that, in turn, can produce this kind of injury.
