eaten i'd say, looks like all the soft fleshy tissue has been removed, however the mouth-parts & cheeks are usually devoured, if pushed id say he was wearing a helmet & boots, the Poirot in me deduces that he was possibly killed in a motor cycle accident somewhere remote & eaten by wildlife but his boots & helmet protected his head & lower legs, anybody agree ???

I`ve seen this kind of "injury" few years ago. It was related to an anti-personnel mine. You know the little ones you step on and after taking the next step it jumps out the ground and detonates in the air?
The strange thing was, that the head and shoulders and his legs down the knees looked nearly untouched of the blast while the rest of his body seems to been picked clean like a chicken leg.

The purpose of the blue clothing or plastic wrap is to have anything to grab without getting his hands dirty.
