Why would he just stand there though? Like, what's the reason for him just standing there doing nothing. Weird accident imo that could have been avoided.

I'd say his "assisting" was well below average. I would expect someone assisting to be paying attention to what the forklift was doing. Apparently not. |

As a 4 year old child I was scared of only two things, large earth moving equipment and that fucking daytime television vampire on the Dark Shadows series from 1966 to 1971. Vietnam with people running around burned by napalm on the evening news didn't scare me, just Jonathon Frid playing that vampire. I couldn't go near our black & white TV when that shit was on.

Re: Worker Assisting Forklift Driver Dies when He Was Ran Over by Forklift
When you are assisting someone who is working with large equipment, the first rule is: YOU LOOK OUT FOR YOURSELF. If the person using the equipment has to look out for his equipment, and YOU TOO, then you shouldn't even be there. The person using the equipment concentrates on THEIR JOB. Anyone helping is expected to watch for anything unusual, and sing out if you see something imminent. If the guy using the equipment has to do his job, and also look out for you, because you are a moron, then you will soon be dead. Go take a break. Go outside and follow a bird around. Go to the bathroom and concentrate on dumping a load. But don't make yourself one more problem in a situation that is already dangerous. DARWIN! OH! I thought of something else. If the person was missing from the scene, and the accident wouldn't have happened, then THAT is proof positive that they were stupid. If that guy had been off licking a flagpole, there would have been no accident. |
