Woman Dies After Setting Herself on Fire in Front of BP Filling Station
November 1. A woman, who has not been officially identified, was transported to nearby Queen Alexandra Hospital, in Cosham, Portsmouth, UK, where the 53-year-old succumbed to her injuries and has tragically died a day later. The 53-year-old woman was taken to hospital with serious burns. Police confirmed that she has sadly died in hospital. Three people rushed to the woman’s aid after she got out of a taxi, doused herself in fuel and set fire to herself. One man was seen ripping off his shirt and began using it in a desperate effort to put out the flames. Two workers from the garage carrying fire extinguishers appeared seconds later to extinguish the woman and a small fire near the petrol pump. |

Why not just squirt herself with the nozzle, and skip putting it in the container first? She could have done a much better job of soaking herself that way.  Then again, her goal was achieved, so I suppose it doesn't really matter at this point.

Suicides typically aren't reported in the news in some countries (unless there's more to the story, like murder-suicides).

As far as suicide goes, there are so many better ways. Imagine feeling your skin tighten and melt, along with the smell and that's before the real pain sets in. It'd take too long. Pipe from the car exhaust into the window. Off to sleep, not waking up. That's my jam. |
