That said, why was the bus moving with the door wide open like that?

Damn, Chinese buses just drive with doors ajar?
Looks like the bus was pulling away from a stop. You see the bus gaining a bit more speed and the doors begin to slowly close.

I think she panicked when she saw the doors were still open and she went to close them for the safety of the child behind her and the other passengers, but she tripped. It happens to the best of us.
