Denervation of the nerves ? You could die from that ...before you bleed out... maybe.. is that from a medical report? Denervation: Loss of nerve supply. Causes of denervation include disease, chemical toxicity, physical injury, or intentional surgical interruption of a nerve. (easy to remember: De - nerve) Here's how that MIGHT be applicable in this case. Both the Central and Peripheral Nervous Systems use a chemical, Acetylcholine produced by the body, to produce muscular contraction. Separately the body has to produce a chemical, whose normal function it is to break down the chemical acetylcholine releasing the muscle contraction, called acetylcholinesterase. This goes for all muscles, from your arm to your heart. So without the nerves signaling for more of one chemical or the other the muscle with be paralyzed. Here's the coviot, your body has those two chemicals on surplus for obvious reasons. It's going to take awhile for you to run out of those two chems, or get low enough that your heart stops. This is why I think hypovolemic shock into exangination (bleeding out). As soon as your brain no longer has oxygen you should lose consciousness. Occam's razor. On a side note, shock is more or less your body preparing to die, and I like to think that it's a peaceful process (hypovolemic shock leading to death) as you're slowing fall asleep basically. Like being put under anesthesia (which is theorized to be close to the same) where the brain activity is basically frozen in a suspended state (No dreaming under anesthesia). |
