I, on the other hand, hope that she was able to feel every bit of it, and as clearly as possible. Because I am a sadist? No, because it would indicate that she was conscious and thus probably had not suffered catastrophic brain damage which would up her survival chances quite considerably. Short term pain is an acceptable tradeoff for long term recovery.

Exactly. As shitty as a job as they did, at least they didn't just sit and stare like the bystanders in other videos. I hope it did her more good than harm.
