Thank you for this. Always amazing me how people listen to the media only. I respect people who does the research. Chechens had their feet on pedals that were connected to the bombs all over the theater, they only needed to remove their feet to blow everything up to pieces. Plus they had females that were wrapped with explosives. They had their fingers on detonators as well. There was no way in hell to rush in and kill all of them at once to avoid explosions. Russians gave it a shot, they had a plan. Yes, a lot of people died, but they managed to safe more. 0 casualties in this situation is a fantasy story.

Now I'm reminded of this old William F Buckley episode with Benjamin Netanyahu from 1986. It's where I learned that his older brother was one of the Israeli commandos that stormed into that hijacked plane that Idi Amin let park in Uganda in the seventies. The brother Netanyahu died there.
Perhaps, that helped to push him into such a life of villainy--doesn't really go too far in explaining all the lying and steeling though.

If the police and military personnel would've rolled the people that were unconscious from breathing the gas on their sides instead of leaving them laying on their backs, there would've been far less hostage casualties as well.

Probably.
That would have been a hard situation to deal with. If they really were all deadman boobytrapped they couldn't have just rushed in, all bonkers, with medics, and the rest of it.
