R. C, 32, was waiting for a bus in Bed-Stuy with his girlfriend after attending a wedding when a man started kicking what appeared to be trash on the street, surveillance video showed. The man could be heard cursing and threatening C. saying, "I'm going to kill you right now."

C. could be heard on the video trying to de-escalate the situation as the man approached him.

"Chill, chill, chill," C. said.

The man, appearing to hold a knife in his right hand, took a swing at C's face and when C. tried to run away and tripped over the bus bench, the suspect stabbed C. multiple times, the video appeared to show.

C. was transported by ambulance to NYC Health and Hospitals/Kings County where he was pronounced deceased, NYPD officials said.

The surveillance video also showed the suspect attacking C's girlfriend. While C. is bleeding on the pavement, the suspect spit at her, kicked C, and then ran away.


Should have called a cab when he was planning to leave the wedding. who the hell sits in the middle of the night at a busstopin NYC. Too many deranged people out there.

That bus stop is only a 1.0 mile / 6 minute walk to his home at 720 Marcy Ave. I would presume that if they had taken a bus from the wedding, that was the stop they had gotten off. Why they were sitting on the bench is anyone's guess.
