And during the French Revolution sometimes there were medical researchers standing at the base of the guillotine who would immediately examine the severed heads looking for signs of consciousness in the seconds after severing. They reported changes of expression and eye movements. When the brain is deprived of oxygen it does shut down quickly, but that still takes at least a few seconds.

No, its not bs, but I don't have the time or patience to sort through countless ISIS beheading videos...that can be YOUR own little adventure. Some of those videos are actually worth rewatching.

What I DO remember about that video is its one where a group of guys are brought out to a clearing among some trees, and this guy with a really sharp sword just cuts through their necks as they were cheese. In such an instance, where the head is instantly separated from the body, there exists a span of a few seconds before the head loses consciousness due to lack of oxygen...and even then....

Theres another video you might consider looking up. Its one from the Mexican cartels, one of the older ones, where a group of guys decapitate four women. If you can find a really clear version of that video, you will see that the second head from the right changes expression from when its set down (looks as if its about to start crying), and you can actually see its mouth open as it either "gasps" for air or loses consciousness. That one in particular is kinda fascinating, because theres a span of around 13 seconds before the mouth goes slack.
