Just to clarify this situation a bit... this location has been under DPR (Donetsk People's Republic) pro-Russian control since about 2014 and is a territory currently occupied by Russian forces backing the DPR separatists controlling the area. It's highly likely that Ukraine was targeting a military target in the area when this happened. Russia has been doing it for 7 months all over Ukraine. The difference here is Ukraine is defending their territory from another country trying to take what is not theirs. There is another video of bodies (over 400 people) that have been exhumed from mass graves in Izium, Ukraine after the UAF liberated the city from Russian occupation about a week ago. At least 30 of those bodies showed signs of torture and all of them signs of a violent death, according to reports. Either way and regardless of who's "side" you're on, it sucks to see innocent people killed no matter who is pushing the button or pulling the trigger.

He (I think) is geolocating these incidences for us. I thought it was a nice touch. I quite like it but I spend a lot of time geolocating live webcams so I'm a bit of a geolocation nerd.

Willing to bet that this was done by the Russians. Ukrainians ARE shelling occupied areas, but their artillery is aimed at actual military targets, and they have very accurate U.S. systems they are using. They are NOT intentionally dropping shells on civilian areas. The Russians, on the other hand, are freely shelling areas they might lose. And then blaming it on the Ukrainians. Unless you believe Ukrainians are shelling Ukrainian nuclear power plants. That's also a favorite Russian activity. |
