Yes, they trained to FLY planes in America, but they practiced slicing camel's necks open with small pocket knives and retractable razorblades at training camps.

Saudi Arabia wasn't considered a threat, there was no real reason to consider it one.
And actually you can go there right now and feel pretty safe. No fear of getting your head chopped off.
So there was no reason to deny a free pass, denying it cause of their religion would be like asking for a kick in the ass for discrimination.

Why did so many Saudi's want to join Al Qaeda? Pretty simple, oil.

When you're sitting on a gold mine and everybody wants a piece a militant government might seem like a good way to protect your interests.
Leave extremists to rule some Country near you, they do what they do best, chop peoples heads off, scream "allah akbar" and all that crap and in the end mark the whole region as hostile. Which in the end scares foreign investors and they rather invest their money in an oil company in U.S. or wherever.

Talibans kept people in fear, fear that the rest of the world will come and take away what is theirs.
And fear is a powerful driving force. Fear of not having enough, fear of losing what is yours, fear of outsiders.
Fear makes people do crazy things. Why did U.S. invade Afghanistan. To retaliate for twin towers? Possible, but when you think about it, why risking all those men, why putting thousands of soldiers in danger when the whole region as unstable as it was and is needed just a spark that will lit the fire that will start a civil war.
You could have easily sat in your chair, and watch them kill themselves. Invade at the end, clean up what is left, pick who should be in charge instead of Taliban, start rebuilding the country so "normal" people support you and end up not just controlling the country but looking like a hero.

You would basically repeat what happened with Russians in the 80's.
Big bad Russians invade Afghanistan so they can control the oil market, U.S. rolls in and saves the day.
But unfortunately it's not how happened, thousands are dead, the war is still going on and the extremists are still there forcing people to live in fear. Now more than ever.

Let me ask EVERYONE a question. I mean everyone, on both sides of the "fence" here. What do you expect really ? If you have an elusive enemy that blends in with all of the normal people of a certain place, that will saw your fucking head off at the drop of a hat and post it to the net for everyone to see, what do you expect ?

Not saying it is right folks, just asking what the fuck do you expect ? They are chicken shits that hide behind innocent men, women, and CHILDREN !!! If you got the drop on them first, and you know that if the tables were turned they would not have mercy of any kind on you and yours, what would you do ?

Would you kill them ? If you had the sense that God gave to a fucking goose, you had better believe you would, because if you did not kill them, the next time, they WILL kill you. I am not saying everything that happens in the course of war is right, that is why there are such things as war crimes.

But I promise you one thing, have a half dozen of your closest friends and soldiers blown apart in front of you, or find the decapitated body of someone that the taliban had killed and posted all over the net, and see if it does not fuck your head up. You will do what you have to to be able to cope with a situation like that, even if you piss on some dead corpses. Is it worse to piss on a dead body, or saw someone's fucking head off and post it for the whole world to see ?

That's the difference between them and us. We drew the line, we decided to show respect to the dead no matter who they are.
That's why we're considered civilized and they're considered cave men.

What is the point in pissing on dead bodies anyway. Except it got half a dozen good soldiers in a crap load of trouble they really didn't need or deserve.

I think the problem is that soldiers are just that, professional soldiers. They're not professional killers.
If you know what i mean.
Of course being a soldier and being sent into a war zone means you will sooner or later have to kill.
But when they kill their emotions are showing (which is only natural). Pissing on those dead bodies was their way to express emotions.
And like you said when you see your friend blown to bits or watch his beheading video on the net it definitely gets to you.

Now on the other hand a professional killer doesn't do those things. He doesn't piss on the dead. He has a goal, the goal has to be achieved.
Someone standing in the way is an enemy, an enemy has to be neutralized.
He kills, doesn't look back, and doesn't thinks about it.
He accepts a death of his team mate as a part of the job, and again he doesn't think about it.
He's probably sorry he lost a friend but thinking about what happened only drives you crazy and makes you lose focus.

Just think about all the people that fought in that war. Most of them went there cause they wanted pay back. It's in human nature to want revenge.
But when you're driven by emotions your mind is exposed and everything you see, hear and do affects your mental state.

Some develop PTSD, some go cold and distant, others piss on dead bodies.
Everyone finds a way to cope with what they saw.
