Re: Two Skydivers Dead After Collision with Each Other in the Air
I’m a skydiver so this one gets to me, but I never jump at the exact same time as someone else. I mean, I’m New Zealand I had a camera man jump with me to film it, but even then, he was a professional diver so although we jumped at different moments he easily caught up with me. It’s a cool video but unfortunately I’m not gravely injured in it so it’s not appropriate for this site... |

When I’ve gone with others, we jump at different times but it’s more like 20-30 seconds between jumpers I would say.

Knobheads. They seem surprised that something went wrong from jumping out of a flying aeroplane. Who would have thought it. |

Re: Two Skydivers Dead After Collision with Each Other in the Air
To me, the key is the phrase "600 jumps". When I went skydiving, the chutes were all packed by professional riggers. But while we are out there waiting for our turn, a lot of military and ex-military guys were there jumping, and they just rolled up their chutes like they were laundry, jammed them back in their packs, and ran off to catch the next flight up. When I mentioned it to the guy teaching the class, he just laughed and said "those guys all have 1000 or so jumps. They aren't worried anymore." But those are the guys who get killed. |
