Re: Tesla Model Y Goes on Rampage in Street, Killing Two People, Injuring 3
Seriously? A heart attack would not cause a driver to stomp down on the gas pedal. Let's just say, for the sake of argument, that the driver passed out flooring the accelerator pedal. Any normal car would have driven off the road in a short amount of time, hit something, disabled itself and ended the incident. Stomp the accelerator on a Tesla, and it will careen through town at its maximum speed, as we have seen here, greatly increasing the body count of the incident, compared to a normal car. I continue to be astounded that DOTs worldwide allow these experimental "self-driving" vehicles on the road. It shows the negligence and corruption of both Big Tech and Gov. |

Nahhhh. Asian countries have a tendency for “losing control of their vehicles”. An extravagant suicide, perhaps. But. I’m not putting this one on Tesla yet. |

Re: Tesla Model Y Goes on Rampage in Street, Killing Two People, Injuring 3
The sequencing of this whole scene doesn't make any sense. The camera footage from each segment looks like it's coming from a different source. I mean not just a different camera, which would be perfectly normal, but from different screens or direct input. In segment 12 where the Tuktuk gets vaporized you can clearly see the edge of the monitor it was recorded from. That might not be damning in itself, but also the timestamps of the segments make no sense. Not all of the segments have a timestamp visible, but of the ones that do here's the sequence. The video starts at 6:42:22. The next couple segments aren't timestamped, but together cover about 8 seconds. Segments 4 through 8 are all timestamped, going from 7:00:18 to 7:00:25 to 7:00:? to 7:00:30, then a second segment at 7:00:30 showing different actions. Next after one unstamped segment we jump backward to 6:49:31. After one unstamped segment lasting only a few seconds segment 12 with the Tuktuk is timestamped 6:58:52. The next scene is the last where the car finally crashes, and is unfortunately not timestamped. I can see the drift between time sources being off by a few minutes, but this seems excessive. I'm not doubting the authenticity of the segments themselves, and they all do appear to be showing the same vehicle. I just don't think they've been stitched together accurately to tell the true story. |

I think it was a software glitch, obviously the driver was trying to avoid the pedestrian, which means he was sane enough, but he couldn't stop.
