I was alllllmost convinced to go on one of these things last week. Part of me wanted to try it, but all I could think of was all the recent rides where people fell out because of shitty harnesses and was like "nah. I'll pass"

I think the holding on was what killed her. If she just let go while it was up, she'd have gotten some broken bones, but probably could have survived. It was when the pendulum swing went back down that she got blasted into the metal with full centrifugal force.
