I live in a touristy area with many high-rise hotels, and many locals here work in the hotel industry. I've heard from more than one person that hotel jumper suicides are much more common than one would think. They are quickly cleaned up and swept under the rug, and the local media never reports them. I've also heard that Las Vegas hotels make it so that guests can't open the windows to prevent this from happening.
