It's an extremely painful way to go, but you're generally unconscious before you're dead. After one or two breaths your lungs are completely burnt and can no longer take in oxygen. There are so many better ways to go. Gunshot, jumping, pills.

that was amazing. dousing yourself in gasoline to falling over burnt to a crisp (his body was charred; his arms and legs stay in the same position—i don't believe he was conscious) in under two minutes. usually people look like complete fools and prolong their suffering by running around and (i'm guessing) getting in too many air pockets to lose consciousness as quickly as they could have. kind of astounding to see someone handle such excruciating pain with such purpose. very few suicides are elegant. i want to hold up a card that says "10."
