My Pop and his buddies used to call it cooking the fuse back in the day. One day down in the DomRep during some house-to-house, he saw two of his buddies hunkered down on either side of a front door, playing an abbreviated game of hot potato: First guy would pull the pin and pop the spoon, then toss it over to the second guy, who would then toss it in. He damn near ran 'em up the flagpole over that shit.  "Aw, don't worry, it's got a 4-second fuse. We're just havin' a little fun," one of them told him. "Yeah, fun until you pop one that's only set at 3 because someone fucked up," was his response. Thankfully he didn't need to pull rank to back up his reasoning, and that was the end of that shit. |
