I don't get these people who shoot themselves in the face and don't die. Like, unless you lost consciousness, try again? Like, your life isn't going to be better without a jaw/nose/whatever gets shot off or rots off later.  |

I guess he hesitated, moved the gun too much as he pulled the trigger. Can't imagine it's easy to shoot yourself in the head (or, in this guy's case, under the chin). Probably squeezed the trigger too hard as he was hesitating and pulling the gun away from him.

Actually, most people don't know this but you can survive without most of your brain if your brain stem is still intact. I would aim for the brain stem, base of the skull in back, put a gun in your mouth and shoot straight back. That is one thing you can't survive!
