the woman and her child were probably not even on his radar, he was probably too emotionally distraught and lest we forget, the mother quickly and erratically turned to cross the road, he wasn't aiming for them and doubtfully even noticed them

Maybe he did but no one could anticipate she would stop and cross the road at that point as he didn't land on the sidewalk. Final destination shit, split decision from both sides that leads to death.

This drama queen thought he’d go out in a blaze of glory, even had some nice dialogue planned out, but instead of being remembered as a sad tortured soul like he probably hoped he would, he ended being remembered as a baby killer. Stupid fuck.
