It wasn't the pressure of the final exams. It was something psychodynamically deeper than that. There is a primitive underlying archtype motive that lead to his final decision. IMO. I think it was the perceived fear of not "succeeding", thus, would lead to unfortunate consequences. His family would probably belittle him. He would be a a societal reject. No women would want him. Let alone have a family. He would most likely end up living a socially isolated life as a long term result. The perceived fear of not being successful and "missing out" is what he felt on a deep primal emotional level which drove him to do it. IMO. |

I can't even begin to think about how much pressure this guy was under to both cut himself to ribbons and cause a radical & sudden avulsion of the brain. Here I thought that kind of pressure was limited to Asian cultures. Guess I was wrong. |
