India. A 25-year-old man was stabbed to death by his relatives on a crowded street Friday evening. The victim died on the spot. Police suspect property dispute to be the reason behind the murder of M.I.K, a student.

At 5.23 pm, 4 assailants waiting for the victim to walk along and attacked him with daggers. Two of the daggers remained stuck in his chest and back as parts of their handles broke off in the hands of the assailants at the time of attack.

The killers fled the scene and the victim collapsed on the road. The murder initially caused panic among the locals and a crowd gathered around the student dying.

“One of the accused is my father’s second wife’s son, M. He, along with three others, attacked my brother and killed him. I came to know that their initial plan was to attack another family member,” the victim's younger brother said.

Police shifted the body in an auto rickshaw and collected evidence from the crime scene.

Police found out that the victim’s father, M. G. K, who was a government employee, was married twice and died 10 years ago.

Since then the victim’s family has property disputes with the family of his father’s second wife. We suspect that it was the reason for the murder, police told.

Police identified the accused as the victim’s half brother M. and his associates, T., P. and C. The accused have been taken into custody and a murder case was registered based on the complaint of victim’s mother, H.U.
