The Saudi petrokleptogarchy is reminiscent of Saddam's Iraq 30 years ago in that it is the most artificial state imaginable, a vestigial remnant of British colonial "statecraft" propped up by the US for the sole purpose of annoying Iran. And, like Iraq, if the Saudis ever go to war with Iran they will be thrashed soundly in battle, even with vastly superior equipment, because also like Iraq, Saudi Arabia has no national identity and doesn't promote officers on merit - which, by the bye, is the reason Napoleon spent all those years kicking Europe's ass - because he had the bright idea to put the people who were good at their jobs in charge.

What the Saudis have going for them is that, again like Iraq, the leadership gives nary a single fuck about their citizenry; in fact, the royal family seem to believe they are literally the owners of the Arab people. Thus, they don't care if 100,000 soldiers die, because it's merely property destruction to them.

Unlike Iraq, the royal family have more money than they can spend. And this is where Anglo-American "cleverness" gets us into trouble, I think. Because I believe our leadership at the time backed the Saudi royals because they are essentially a cohort of inbred redneck retards who we thought we could easily manipulate. Which is just so stupid, because both America and Britain are full of inbred redneck retards who act against their own interests and are a burden on society, so I don't know why they expected that to work out.

He's a Yemeni fighter/Ansar Allah/Houthi being missed at by Saudis. I'm sure things aren't all as one-sided as I depict though--exaggerated contrast is just so damn amusing. Where the Saudi, UAE, etc. lack in battle competence, they appear to make up for in spades with their blockades, and attacks on Yemeni ports from above. The starvation they've already caused will have to put a dent into any future Yemeni resistance. There's video of MBS talking about targeting children.

I can't disagree with any of that. Did we talk about Russian writing a while back? I think because I was parsing through so many MBS clips, I was also reminded of Iraq at some point, Uday Hussein specifically--the two both being cut from such similarly punkish cloth. In addition to those differences you mentioned I think I have more tolerance for Saddam in my mind, if only because of the badass nature of him snatching his position--scarier too. I have a much higher degree of contempt for those born into, and then raised up to believe in, their right to rule. Earth bullies are Earth bullies though, and one and the same in my estimation.
