Being so close to the border and being familiar with the cartel violence, it amazes me that you call me out by saying I’m posting BS......And you still think sicarios only come from the Medellin cartel????? Sicarios are paid gunmen. The Medellin cartel hired kids from the street as gunmen just as Mexican cartels do. Yes, you were wrong.

No the word used in Mexico for Shooter / Gunman is not Sicario. That’s is a Castilian Spanish word used outside of Mexico. The word used around here for hitmen / shooters is Cuetador or Tirador. Those are the words used by the border cartels for their hitmen. I was just pointing out that fact. |

Neither "cuetador" or "tirador" are used in Mexican media when referring to "cartel gunmen." When referring to "here" do you mean Mexico or Texas? You are correct that "shooter" does mean what you are saying...tirador/cuetador. yes...a sicario "shoots" ...but specifically, cartel gunmen are not referred to as "shooters" in the media or on the street. There's a heck of a lot of videos out there of these guys filming themselves calling / referring to themselves as sicarios. These are cartel gunmen. Mexican media refer to them as sicarios. I have yet to see one newscast, article, book referring to these guys as a "tirador" or "cuetador." |
