Maybe he didn't read the yelp reviews of La Jolla Crossroads, University City. Seems it was a rather stressful place. An example review from a few months ago: DON'T MOVE HERE!! Want a complex with working elevators? don't live here. Wan't an ant free unit? Don't live here. Want a "secure parking garage" where the gate works and there are video cameras and security not visibly smoking weed on shift? Don't live here. Want key fobs that will open your on-site gym, pool, hot tubs, etc? Don't live here. Want a shower and sinks that drain and a freezer that doesn't leak into the fridge? Don't live here. Want a complex with a contact number for the actual manager or someone on duty to address car break ins or questions about why nothing works? Don't live here. Want to park your car at night and come into your "secure" parking garage the next day to find it in the same condition as you left it? Don't live here. Want a complex with elevators whose certificate of maintenance didn't expire more than 13 months ago? Don't live here. Want rent that doesn't go up $175/renewal? Don't live here. From the outside looking in, it seems really nice. It's not. It completely sucks. The staff are dishonest, you have to call maintenance every 1-2 weeks with a new problem, and no one feels responsible to address your concerns. And they will scam you out of every penny they can when you move out. Even if it's by making false allegations about the condition of your unit. You will see that there are many 4* & 5* ratings for LCR. And, there is a VERY easy explanation for this that we were told BY A MAINTENANCE WORKER: in order to hide the bad reviews, the maint. guys are told to ask for personal reviews. They ask you to use their names and rate their personal service! And, they are typically really nice! So, the complex gets some good reviews, as a result. BUT, if you read them they are nearly all about one specific person on the maint. crew. Look at how many maint. issues exist, just by reading the positive reviews left for the maint. workers! That's nuts! After receiving your comment, I'd like to ask someone to simply call me. I'm not going to leave work to accommodate the business office hours, and I've tried countless times get someone on the phone. Feel free to message me directly for contact info. |
