Hasanbi Fakov, militant leader in Kabardino-Balkaria, was killed by police
Last night at about 0.05 a.m. the police killed three out of four militants who opened fire at them during and ID chech in Nalchik in Kabardino-Balkaria.
The officials have identified the militants killed as Hasanbi Fakov, a militant leader of Kabardino-Balkaria and Karachay-Cherkessia, Irina Ortanova, his Muslim wife, the representative of republican SUSK reported. Hasanbi Fakov and Irina Ortanova were put earlier on the federal "wanted" list.
The law enforcers found a Stechkin pistol, two Makarov pistols, two improvised bombs made using a VOG-17 (for AGS-17 grenade launcher) shot. A criminal case was initiated under the articles "Infringement of Life of the Employee of Law Enforcement Agency" and "Arms trafficking" of the Criminal Code of Russian Federation. The militants may get sentenced for life.
27-year-old Senior Sergeant Arsen Shamparov was hospitalized with wounds and died at about 3.40 am.The group of police officers will be awarded.
