I agree. I remember one fight Mike went in right off the bat. like a nuclear powered bulldozer and the commentator saying something like "Tyson's showing no respect for his opponent whatsoever". That was what it was like then, the unwritten rules of letting your opponent find his feet, showing respect, the razzle dazzle dressing gowns with gold tassels and all that sportsman-like conduct bullshit. Meanwhile Mike was in his black shorts trying to give everyone brain haemorrhages and was doing pretty fucking well at it. I think a prime Mike would have battered Mohammed Ali. |
