Target fixation and lack of talent. When a motorcyclist drifts out of lane like that, it is overwhelmingly because they didn't set an appropriate entry speed before entering the corner, and thinking that they (or the bike) are not capable of finishing the turn, start looking for a soft spot to crash. Unfortunately in this case, that darn truck got in the way of an off-road excursion and a relatively soft glancing whack into the Armco. Broken, yes. Dead, no. Likely wishing for death during the months of ortho rehab, perhaps - but not dead.

Motorcyclists need to practice, practice, practice to not freak the fuck out when they think they are in over their heads - trust the bike, trust their tires, and try to finish the fucking turn, regardless of their confidence to do so at that time. Beats the hell out of a trip into a unforgiving truck.
