Re: Runner Dies During Brooklyn Half Marathon

~ Runners usually collapse from dehydration &/or headaches caused by lack of electrolytes.
The area was having unseasonably warm temperatures, despite the fog.
~ Nearly 20,000 runners participated in the Brooklyn Half-Marathon 13.1 mile race.
It began at the Brooklyn Museum, went around Prospect Park and along Ocean Parkway, finishing in Coney Island on the boardwalk.
~ Just after 9:30 a.m. Saturday, about two and a half hours after the 13.1 mile race started, 32-year-old D. R., Therapist, collapsed at the finish line.
According to the news report he died from a heart attack.
~ (Watch video): His time was 1:41:51, but he made it, 13.1 miles.
~ I admire his determination, but next time he needs to take more electrolytes so he won't pass out. And, NO, Gatorade is not enough.
~ Electrolytes need to be maintained in an even balance for your body to function properly.
Otherwise, vital body systems can be affected.
Severe electrolyte imbalances can cause serious problems such as coma, seizures, and cardiac arrest.

Re: Runner Dies During Brooklyn Half Marathon

I’m just trying to gather where you get the idea there will be a “next time” he’s literally in a thread called “Runner Dies During Brooklyn Half Marathon” in a topic called “Real Death Videos | Warning Graphic Videos”, with plenty of videos of him dead, like the title of the resource you posted was “Man dies after completing Brooklyn half-marathon” further down it says “The New York Road Runners confirmed the man's death in a statement to NBC New York”

Like where in the heck did you pull that next time from? Stay off the crayons buddy they aren’t for consumption.
Thank you! Literally every new thread created and this guy types a dissertation of what we all can see for ourselves, play by play, in more detail than anybody cares to know, and includes his expert on opinion on every single detail in a video. Please stop. Breaking into the top 25 poster rankings on DR does not come with special recognition or privilege.
