On February 20, a traffic accident involving three rear-end collisions occurred in Huaning County, Yuxi, Yunnan. On the 21st, the Propaganda Department of the Huaning County Party Committee reported that the accident caused 5 deaths and 1 injury. Truck driver probably could have swerved into oncoming truck instead of destroying the SUV, or hit the rear end of the slow / stationary truck. A quick Chinese calculus told him to run over the SUV to slow down and make a break for open road between the two big rigs for the least damage to him and his truck. Glad the SUV burned up his truck, a fitting swansong for the SUV. |
