Yeah, well hunger makes people do things. It's hard to call someone a dumbass for stealing a chicken when they live in a country where everyone is starving. If it were in America, sure, but where the fuck this is, people are hungry, and desperate.

Is it because food is hard to come by in those countries? What is the value equivalent of a chicken in a third world hole, to the first world? I can see someone getting hacked to death in broad daylight in the USA for raping a man, then having sex with his wife while forcing him to watch, and then slaughtering his children. Is this the same level of seriousness as chickens there? |

Absolute punishment = 100% effective deterrent. If the storyline is factual; How many of us would steal a chicken in that country after watching that? Answer =0 Ever steal something in your town/province? |
