Professional Black Belt Jiu-Jitsu Fighter Dies After Road Rage Fight with Biker
29-year-old Guma Epfane Vasconcelos, was killed on Tuesday morning (24) in the city of São Domingos do Maranhão, Brazil. He was known as 'Tiago Guma' and a professional black belt fighter and participated in competitions not linked to the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Confederation (CBJJ), which represents the country in the competitions with the best international athletes. He fought in competitions for the Brazilian Confederation of Professional Fights (CBLP), in which he won world titles. Guma Epfane was also the owner of a gym in São Domingos do Maranhão, where he also worked as a personal trainer. According to police, the crime occurred after a possible road rage argument that resulted in a fight in the street. A video shows the fighter arguing with a man at 7:18 in the morning. The suspect is a motorcyclist with his helmet in his hand. After body wrestling, Guma lies on the ground and is then shot in the head. The fighter was rescued alive. The athlete was taken to the Hospital with a bullet to the head but did not resist the injury and died in the hospital. Police are investigating the case and are in due diligence to arrest the suspect. |

Huh. I wish I could make out what happened when they started grappling. BJJ guy tries to take it to the ground and then it looks like the other guy just kinda tosses him to the side and gets up, while BJJ guy just kinda sits there and then takes a bullet.

Dude may not have gotten shot if he didn't keep reaching for the gun, pressing forward and took the guy down |

Remember, never bring just your world title to the gunfight.

Guess he didn't think the biker would use his gun...he thought wrong. Kung Fu man just kept advancing on the guy with the gun. I think the reason he fell and didn't get up was he was already shot before the coup de grace to the head. Machismo meets machismo + gun in Latino Land... |

Well he deserved it. Shooter was backing up and trying to avoid a confrontation. To be honest if i got attacked and tackled to the ground on a back street in Brazil i would also shoot to finish the assault. |
