The U.S. is so pristine compared to Brazil, Mexico, Russia, etc. I think we're just as crooked, but we seem to care so much more about our image that the front we put up really does make us look to be so much more 'just' and 'ordered' and 'by the book', and all that kind of stuff. That's why we call our police training institution the 'academy'. The recruits go there to learn how to 'act', and if they're not good enough at it, they don't graduate. |
