Re: Police Call It Murder Suicide, teenage girl shoots teenage cousin and herself
WRONG! But that kind of thinking explains a LOT about the world we currently find ourselves in. The proper thing to do is to teach your children to know better than to do stupid shit like this in the first place. You're deluded if you think you can monitor your child 24/7, and even if you could how far into their lives can this supervision last? Are you going to continue to protect your children into adulthood, or does that responsibility fall to the state or something? And what about when they have kids of their own, in the unlikely event that they survive long enough to do so? Can you really trust that someone who was never taught not to play in the traffic will pass this along to the next generation? I'm really curious about just how useful you think a society would be where the only thing keeping everybody from accidentally shooting themselves in the head is constant supervision rather than common sense? Now, before everyone looses their shit, I'm not advocating that every 12 year old needs to be taught proper gun safety. Just the ones who have guns in the house. Seriously, if you own a gun and don't teach your kids to respect it and leave it the fuck alone you might as well just shoot them yourself. |

Re: Police Call It Murder Suicide, teenage girl shoots teenage cousin and herself
That's why I let my toddlers play with their firearms when I'm around to check on them. The girl was truly shocked after killing her cousin by a negligent discharge and she could not forgive herself, so out of impulse she decided to commit suicide to pay for what she did, I don't think she did it to avoid facing the consequences. Finger off the trigger and muzzle discipline will prevent you from things like this. |
