Re: Pitbull Attack Turns Floor into a Pool of Blood

I'm not saying that training doesn't play a big factor in the dogs behavior, but aggression is inherent of a breed bred to fight..... I'm sure that Labs or poodles bite just as many people, but how many times would you have to shoot a poodle before it lets go?
We don't know the circumstances of this incident, but there have been many well documented attacks on innocent people in the past..... For all you guys that own one good for you, I hope you control your dog at all times because all it takes is 1 second.

Respect, respect, respect.

You have a point, if all the documented cases of dog bites were completely accurate, I think we would see that pits are not the breed most often attacking people, but as you said, there are not many other breeds that have to be killed to stop them.

I have had tiny dogs try to bite the shit out of me, but you can kind of kick them off. Pits however are very tenacious, and strong. And that is why if you train them for violence, you have a ticking timebomb on your hands.

Re: Pitbull Attack Turns Floor into a Pool of Blood

Ya. It's the owners fault. We all know pit bulls are sweet and loving and never do it for nothing.
Actually, they don't just attack for nothing. In fact, though the dog was initially bred (until about 1900) to fight, they have instead been bred to emphasize loyalty and other "family values" since then. Now, most any "pittie" person will tell you they are loving, sweet, and goofy dogs.

They have to be trained to be mean, and even then, if taken out of the fighting environment, almost all revert to being the loveys that they are. Ask any rescuer. In fact, please google "pit bull rescue" and you will see many stories and informational articles on the true nature of pit bulls. A powerful example of this is the Michael <spit> Vick case. They seized 54 dogs from his property. Do you think they had to kill most of those dogs? (Sorry, I don't believe in terms like "euthanize" or "put to sleep" so people don't feel guilty about the 5-6 million dogs and cats who are murdered in so-called shelters every year.) Out of 54 of the dogs seized, 48 of the dogs are now placed with families, some are even therapy dogs! Alot of pittie rescuers can tell you touching stories about the dogs they have and once had. I have had 3 rescues and I can't tell how sweet and lovable their hearts are. My most recent rescue was a female who fought and when she was supposedly too old to fight, she was turned into a breeder, giving birth to 5 litters in just two years. If that's not enough cruelty to consider, do you know how she was forced to breed? These folks have a thing call a rape stand where the female is strapped in, so she cannot move or fight while she is being raped. After all, this the fighting ring she was in was raided and she was confiscated.

She would shake like a leaf when at her foster home and in the presence of basically anyone she didn't know, and would hide from any men, especially Latino since her primary caretaker at the fighting ring happened to be Mexican. Somehow, when visiting this woman's home on an unrelated issue, Sweetiepie, as everyone had taken to calling her, came out of the hall where she was hiding to see who was there. She lay on the floor just at the end of the hallway to watch us. On my next visit, she laid down in the living room, and on my third visit, she crept over to me and though she was shaking because she was scared, she came to me and while I wasn't looking <wink wink> tentatively licked my dangling hand. To shorten this story, by my fifth visit, she and I were in love with each other, and she is an integral part of my household.

Pit bulls just happen to be the dog de jour to be hysterical (and wrong) about. Before them the dogs to be scared of were rottweilers, dobermen pinschers, german shepards...

Re: Pitbull Attack Turns Floor into a Pool of Blood

I couldn't watch this vid, but I'll just say- they take a story like this and show it as an example, and it perpetuates the myths about pit bulls being a bad breed, and not trainable. I think it's bullshit.

Re: Pitbull Attack Turns Floor into a Pool of Blood

We have 1 that has gotten lose once before when my kid was 1 and my wife and kid were out walking. Lucky my brother in laws dog is a dog who does not like pitbulls. He got a out of his kennel and got a hold of that little bastard put him down for good! Thank god for a pure breed hunting dog and he was protecting my kid and wife. If your wondering why not pitbulls cause the little bastard went after him once before and he does hold a grudge against pitbulls but not any other breed of animal. This is a shame though. If they were not breed to be fighting dogs they would be good dogs as pets. Thanks to the idiot/s that used them only for that purpose!

Re: Pitbull Attack Turns Floor into a Pool of Blood

Lol that pitbull is from a backyard litter, purebred pitbulls are around 45-60 lbs and don't look that big, plus the owner is a fucking tool, if a dog ever gets a hold of you, poke the fucker in the eyes, that's probably your best bet against a pitbull considering they have the best pain tolerance of all dog breeds.
