They coat kite strings with powdered glass in Pakistan and Afghanistan. A game is played where two kids with kites will duel and try to cut each others’ kite strings. It’s possible this string had been treated with sodium silicate solution, or water glass, which is what adds strength and rigidity to cardboard and paper and makes them able to cut our skin. It wouldn’t be visible but would be gritty to the touch and covered with microscopic blades of glass. Or it could just be some regular fucking string I dunno.

Well Kite String It Was NOT !! It Was Spectra or Braid. Yea, That Line is practically unbreakable and will cut just like a Razor under strength. I've seen guys lose fingers and hands on Tuna Fishing Trips using Braided lines that made dumb mistakes. The guy rode right thru the cutting edge, never had a chance. A Filet Oh Man as it Were. |
