Re: Officer Involved Shooting in Corpus Christi

That was OTT, a fucking child could have gotten out of the way of a swing like that. Cops these days just open fire at the mere hint of aggression, he'll get away with it though.
I bet he doesn't. He probably won't get a murder charge, but I'd be surprised if he doesn't catch a case. And fired.

All these cop cheer leaders are foolish. They don't have the foresight or common sense to understand 1, one day it could be you, you son, father, or friend being gunned down.

And 2, this kind of shit gives the cops a bad name. Gives ammunition and validates these BLM activists. And standing against this shit is what validates the people who stand with the police.

I want cops to not fear firing their weapon. That they will face charges or be fired and harassed and threatened for using it. But I also want them to good at their job. Which means not abusing their power to use lethal force.

If was their I wouldn't have shot him. I think its cowardly.

Re: Officer Involved Shooting in Corpus Christi

We've made it easy for cops to make the decision to shoot first and ask questions later.

If they tase the dude and he falls and splits his head open and winds up in the ER or dies of a heart attack, some lawyer will argue their way into a 7-figure settlement for wrongful injury or death.

If they just shoot the dude and he dies, the blue wall comes up and they'll find ways to protect the badge unless the shooting is just egregiously wrong.

There's a lot less paperwork in killing folks, so people need to behave a little better around the cops.
I agree people should behave around cops. And I wouldn't say a thing if that cop smacked him upside the head with a club. Or tackled him and worked him over a little for resisting.

I think this was egregious.

Sadly, what anyone thinks is almost immaterial. He was swinging a pipe, even if feebly, so they'll find a way to frame the justification.

To a degree I think you're right. I can't stand the BLM movement. I think they have zero credibility, after having rather destructive protest that were basically riots. And over good police shootings. That Micheal Brown I believe. If anyone deserves to get shot by police, that guy practically put the gun to his own head.

My point is, those "protests" followed by the media coverage have been successful in making cops accountable. Although in many cases I believe unfairly.

Which is why these instances are so divisive. And you get people who will always back the police, and others who will always blame the police.

Its just something else to divide people brought to you by the media.

A little off topic but I'm seriously surprised we haven't had a fairly large domestic battle on the streets of an American city between the Blm/antifa and Proud Boys or just some fed up with antifa group.

Or just the proud boys rolling on Google. It literally says on Google that the proud boys are a racist, xenophobic, homophobic, misogynistic, fascist hate group. On proud boys web page, it says any religion, any race, gay or straight is welcome.

I don't know any proud boys myself. . Just seems like division tactics everywhere you look.

I heard Harrison Ford had the shits that day and felt too weak to fight the sword guy, so he shot his pistol. I don't know if that is true.

Re: Officer Involved Shooting in Corpus Christi

I typically don't chime in on these types of videos because there is too much information not immediately available to pass judgement....HOWEVER...In this particular one, the cop looks to be a horrible shot (whatever the reason he decided to shoot) and it appears to me he shot and finally hit the pipe swinger on the fourth round...He missed the other three shots and it wasn't until after the perp dropped his pipe and showed his back to the officer that the cop hit him on the fourth. Shooting somebody in the back that is walking away from you is a homicide in my book...The cop went from being teased and made fun of by the other officers in his unit for being a terrible shot, to being an all out killer. My grandmother could have jumped out of the way with that half-ass swing of a pipe. BUT, swing a pipe at somebody pointing a gun at you is not the most intelligent decision to make...Play stupid games, win stupid prizes...

Yeah I watch the BTS very long time ago, it's true

Ford also suggested a lot of things on the set, on which Spielberg actually listened

The trilogy still holds up today. 4 wasn't THAT bad, but definitely not up par to the original trilogy. 5, looking at how old Ford is today... I figure he would be some kind of a "mentor" figure like Luke in Last Jedi.
