An attempted robbery today at a post office left one man dead in the municipality of Itapecerica da Serra at 4pm local time.

An off duty military police officer was sending a package when Julia Souza de Barros walked in with a .32 caliber pistol announcing a robbery.

The officer, identified only as 'P', reacted quickly and took four shots at the suspect hitting him three times in the neck and shoulder region. The man was taken to a local hospital but was dead on arrival.

The two other men walking with Julia were later apprehended.
