Somehow I doubt that he just "gave" them a lift. Perhaps at gun or knife point? And forced to ride to a deserted spot where they could finish their business.

They didn't have any gun or knife as you can see, one guy grabbed his neck and strangled him, the other guy is hitting his head with something that was on the road. Also it looks like a colony as windows, camera can be seen.

Ok got this info,

As per the description, “The Uganda Police in Kampala are currently investigating a gruesome murder of a boda boda rider, by two unidentified robbers on Friday night who murdered him as he was driving them to an unknown destination.” Boda Boda is a motorcycle taxi service common in East Africa. The victim wasn’t giving a lift but was taking passengers.
