She had to approach the vehicle from the front. She couldn't approach from the rear. She was already in the direct line of fire when he pulled the pistol. He had the drop on her. She responded by grabbing his arm trying to control the weapon. She was at a clear disadvantage when he pulled the pistol. She did the right thing. Her next move was to let go and retreat to the rear of the vehicle and blade away from the fire. She did it right.

Pretty sure screaming and begging for your life is a common trait among a lot of people when faced with similar circumstances, regardless of sex. Kyle Dinkheller screamed and begged before getting finished off, and so did that other cop who got shot and killed on his dashcam. It's not a gender thing. It's a frightening situation.
