A ak47 uses 7.62mm rounds, it will punch threw human bone like a heated needle threw butter. The size of the muzzle flash can depend on if they have a flash reducer (night time ops) but I doubt that would be the case for the cartels. All probability, that bullet went in and out at that distance.... I've seen video (that has since been erased by the U.S goverment) of a Marine who did not want to redeploy to Iraq, shot two military police with a AR-15 (also 7.62mm) both of them got blown away...literlly, the bullets hooked some bones and carried them about 5ft from their position. So for this lady to fall flat, perfectly normal folks :) |

Your typical AR-15 does. There's a variant that will shoot a .308, but isn't nearly as popular as the .223 version. The 7.62 is a different round entirely. That's not to say that a 7.62 version doesn't exist, it's just really rare.

What would be the purpose of faking a video like this? It was filmed with a shitty camera, what would make anyone think that they have a decent computer laying around to edit video with special effects? Why go through all the trouble? A bullet is cheaper and is more in line with the way things happen down there. The narcos don't give a shit about human life. Threaten, shoot (or cut or hang), and done. On to the next one. Faking a video is a waste of time. |
