Massacre at Beach Hotel, Guatemala
At least six people were murdered this Tuesday in the pool of a hotel on the beaches of El Semillero, in the Tiquisate municipality of the department of Escuintla, Guatemala. According to the authorities, the massacre stems from the war between gangs for control of the territory. Local media indicate that a group of gang members from the Barrio 18 gang who were in the hotel were surprised by their rivals from the Mara Salvatrucha, who shot at them until they were killed. Among the deceased are at least three men and three women. While the attackers would have been four men who escaped aboard a black vehicle.     |
